Grow Spiritually in Mecca
Mecca, a city in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia, near Jeddah, is the center of the Islamic world. It was here that the prophet Muhammed was born and also where he received the Words of God. No matter where Muslims are when they pray, they always turn to face Mecca.
It’s also a requirement of Islam that Muslims must make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime, called the Hajj. This usually takes place during the final month of the Islamic calendar, Dhūl-Ḥijjah, when around three million pilgrims come to visit.
However, non-muslims are not allowed to enter the city.
