Grow Spiritually in Mount Sinai
Egypt
Mount Sinai is often known by its nickname, Mount Moses, as it was here that Moses is said to have received the 10 Commandments from God. Therefore, this spiritual place is particularly significant in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – Mount Sinai is mentioned in the Book of Exodus in the Bible, as well as in the Quran.
Rising to 2,285 meters, Sinai is not the highest peak in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and is actually surrounded on all sides by mountains which are higher. To reach the summit, Siket El Bashait is a comfortable hike two and a half hours (or you take a camel), but many opt for the longer Siket Sayidna Musa route, which is a steep 3,750 steps of penitence.
